Granola

I love my granola,  it fills me up in the morning, it keeps me regular and day long.  It’s crunchy and good.

Ingredients:

3 cups of oats, I mix 1 cup of each: large oats, steal oats and regular oats,

1 cup each of pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds (note, you can change these to whatever type of seed you fancy)

3 cups in total of different types of flakes like rye, wheat, barley, Khorasan, spelt, multigrain flake or other types of flakes

2 cups in total of nuts: like almonds, walnuts, pine nuts, peanuts, cashew, pistachios or any nut you like

1 cup of maple syrup, but you could use honey, corn syrup, a berry syrup instead of maple

1 cup of oil: either olive oil, or safflower oil, or grapeseed oil

Somethings I will add, things like 2 tbsp. of  coco, or 1/2 cup of hemp, or 1/2 wheat bran, or 1/2 cup of peanut butter, or 1/2 cup of coconut shreds  just to change it up from time to time

I will mix in 1 tbsp. of ginger, or nutmeg, or cinnamon or a combination these, sometimes I use allspice or I will mix in a bit of ground cloves.  You could experiment with other spices you like.

Preparation:

I take a large, very large bowl.  Mix all ingredients up making sure they get covered with the oil and maple syrup.  Preheat the oven to 325 F.  Spread mixture out onto baking sheet, put first I put down a non stick reusable sheet onto the baking sheet and put the mixture on top of the sheet.  Use large baking sheet.  Bake for 30 minutes on middle to top shelf, stir after 30 minutes return to oven and bake for another 30 minutes, then turn oven off and leave cereal in oven until oven cools off.

Store cereal in an airtight container.

If you like you can add dried fruit like pineapple, raisins, cranberries, blueberries and so on.  Or you can add fresh fruit when you go to eat the cereal.  When I go to eat I add yogurt as well to my cereal, but you can add milk instead if you like.
