Momma’s Best Meatballs

Ingredients :

2 lb of either a mix of (beef, veal and pork) or of one kind of ground meat, your pick

2 eggs

1 medium sweet onion finely diced

1/4 cup of cream

Salt and pepper

3/8 of dry unseasoned bread crumbs

1/8 cup of dry parsley

2 tbsp of dry basil

1tsp of nutmeg

2 tbsp of rosemary

2 tbsp of oregano

1/2cup dry white Italian wine

1 bulb of garlic about 9 to 10 cloves finely diced

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese or Gran Padano cheese

8 thick slices of bacon finely minced


24 grape tomatoes

6 small tomatoes diced seeds removed

1/2 of dry white Italian wine

3 garlic cloves

1/2 cup of olive oil

Now in a large baking pan pour olive oil in about 1/4 cup spread out so all pan is covered. Then take meat mixture, large ice cream scooper, and scoop meat mixture, take ball place in pan, roll it around so covered in oil. Do this to all meat, turning meat mixture into balls, and then rolling them in oil, you might need to add more oil to pan to make sure each ball is covered. Once all balls covered then pour purée on top off balls making sure each gets sauce. Then place into oven at 350 for 2 hrs. When done I place in bowl with the tomato purée sauce it was cooked in. I serve it with buns, hot spicy sauce, grated Parmesan cheese and a toss salad.

Enjoy. You will love these meatballs. Remember Italian’s don’t serve meatballs with pasta. Pasta and meatballs is a North America way to serve meatballs. So if you like you can serve them on top of pasta. They are good served anyway you like.
