Japanese Salad

Japanese salads are simply and delightful easy. The dressing enhance the salad.

Make the salads in individual bowls. Start with a head of lettuce, washed and ripped up into small pieces. Next dice tomatoes, then dice cucumbers and finally boil egg for each salad bowl. Once eggs are ready, remove shell and cut them in half placing in bowl. Place ingredients on top of lettuce not mixing them with lettuce or with each other. But to stand alone in presentation. Sprinkle with pepper and sever with dressing on side. I let each person dress their salad as some people like little dressing and others might like a lot. For this salad a recommend just a bit of dressing. So that the dressing can be tasted but not over powering.

Dressing:

Get a bowl or cup to mix the following together.

Take two to three slices of white sweet onion and finely dice then add to bowl, next take 6 tablespoons of olive oil and to bowl, then take 6 tablespoons of soy sauce add to bowl, take 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds add to bowl, then using pepper grind, grind in some fresh pepper about 3 or 5 grinds, next add 6 tablespoons of rice vinegar. Finally whisk, or stir well all ingredients together.

When you dress your salad make sure to toss salad so all the vegetables and lettuce get a sprinkling of dressing.

This dressing can be used for several different types of salads. Enjoy.
